❓ Frequently Asked Questions
What is VerifEye® and how is it different from a polygraph?
VerifEye® is Converus's remote ocular credibility assessment platform. It measures changes in eye behavior — pupil dilation, blink rate, and reading patterns — to detect deception. Unlike polygraphs, it requires no physical contact, no wires, and no sensors. The examinee simply reads questions on a screen while eye-tracking technology does the work. It delivers 80%+ accuracy under standard conditions and can be administered remotely from any smartphone.
Can my client take the test from jail or a detention facility?
Yes. VerifEye® is designed for remote administration. Your client can take the assessment from jail, home, or any location using a standard smartphone or tablet. No special software or equipment is required on their end. IAI coordinates directly with facilities when needed.
How can VerifEye® results be used in court?
VerifEye® results can be incorporated into a character presentation packet submitted to the court as part of a Pre-Sentence Investigation (PSI) — providing objective, science-based credibility data for the sentencing judge's consideration. It gives the judge a different lens beyond the probation officer's narrative.
Is Dr. Walwyn a licensed examiner?
Yes. Dr. Celvin G. Walwyn is a certified VerifEye® Examiner through Converus — the same credentialed standard used by agencies in 50+ countries. IAI has two Converus-certified EyeDetect® Examiners on staff. IAI does not administer traditional polygraph examinations.
What if I need to cancel or reschedule?
You can reschedule or cancel through the Calendly confirmation email you receive after booking. Please provide at least 24 hours notice. For urgent changes, contact IAI directly at (407) 341-2778 or admin@iahotx.com.
